About last night’s bike ride (10th December 2009).

While it was a little on the short side, at twelve miles, it was well attended and presented some challenging route choices. There was a moment I won’t forget in a hurry. We had reached “The Park”, a smidge north of “Low Parkamoor”. The cloudless sky allowed us a view of every star in the heavens. Then someone said “Hey! Turn your lights off for a bit.”
After a minute or two for our eyes to become dark accustomed, we could see that almost all of Coniston Water was covered in a blanket of mist. Spectacular, and a little eerie.
I wished I had brought a laser with me, it allows you to get a better idea of where the mist is.
