Another juicy bit of information about cycle lanes.

The Department For Transport says on the subject of cycle lanes: “As a general rule, if you want to cycle quickly, say in excess of 18 mph/30 kph, then you should be riding on the road.”
For the vast majority of my commute, and local bike riding, I will be somewhere in the region of 18 to 25mph depending on how I feel, the wind speed and direction, and the gradient.
So, you can shout about it if you want, I’m not interested. 🙂
